W.S.J.T.D.?

W.S.J.T.D. What should John Tortorella do?

Well, looking at the roster today, I was thinking of som line-up moves that I think would help make the Rangers roster better.

Let’s start with the first line, eh?

In my opinion the first line should be:

Prospal-Dubinsky-Gaborik

Prospal is a natural winger and had the most success this season playing winger. Dubinsky was playing very well on the top line before his unfortunate injury. And Gaborik is, well, Gaborik.

Second line:

Avery-Anisimov-Callahan

I’m pretty sure that Avery is on the third line? I may be wrong. But, he has played well in the past few games and I think he deserves to play on the second line. Anisimov should be given a chance on the second line, in my opinion. Callahan has played better in the past few games, scoring a power play goal in the each of the past two games, Hopefully, Cally continues this trend.

Third line:

Higgins-Drury-Kotalik

Higgins has done next to nothing on the top line. Oh wait I’m sorry he did fail to score on a 2-0, my bad. Drury has played okay since his return. He’s still nothing more that a third liner though. Kotalik, my how his production has slowed, eh? He’s been okay on the powerplay, but hasn’t done much more.

Fourth line:

Boyle/Christensen-Boyle/Christensen-Lisin/Voros

Boyle is a big guy and plays well on the fourth line. Christensen has played in what, one game? He deserves a chance on the fourth line. Lisin, what does he get, about 5 minutes of ice time per game? Give him a chance to make some plays. Voros is eh.

Defense

Pair One:

Del Zotto-Staal

Tell Staal to do nothing more than be a stay-at-home defenseman and let DZ worry about the offensive side of the game. Tell Staal his only job is to clear the crease and this tandem could be great.

Girardi-Redden

Redden has been surprisingly good this year, defense-wise. Girardi had been inconsistent and has played well some games and terrible the other. Let Redden help Girardi out if he needs it.

Heikkinen-Sanguinetti

They may combine for the defensive pair with the longest last names. Heikkinen has played good while up here and Sanguinetti is the best remaining defenseman on the team, so why not pair them up?

Goalies:

Obviously, Lundqvist the starter and Johnson the back-up.

Ahh, so? Who are the lucky souls that get to sit with Sather up in the press box? Well here they are.

These are the people that I would bench every night:

Donald Brashear
Michal Roszival

Roszival is just plain terrible. Period. End of story. Brashear is also terrible. I can’t believe he played on the second line a few games ago. Stupid.
